Peel the apple, cut it in four and cut out the core.

Grate the apple pieces over a bowl.

Halve the orange and press the juice on a citrus press.

Crumble the almond paste over a mixing bowl and pour the orange juice.

Stir everything into a smooth paste.

Add the self-raising flour and break the egg over the bowl.

Pour the buttermilk with it while stirring and stir everything into a smooth batter.

Stir in the grated apple through the batter.

Heat a knob of butter in the frying pan and spoon with 3 tablespoons of batter.

Press 3 spice nuts in each mountain.

Bake is bubbling to the top.

Turn the pancakes with a spatula and bake the bottom until golden brown.

Place the pancakes on a plate and repeat if necessary.
