Bring the whipped cream to the boil with the milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, vanilla and vanilla pod.

Mix 50 grams of sugar with the egg yolks and stir smooth. Pour some of the hot cream into the egg yolks and mix well.

Pour the egg mixture into the pan and allow the sauce to thicken while stirring. Do not let the sauce boil.

Remove the vanilla pod and serve the vanilla sauce hot or cold.
