Ingredients
Directions
-
Pour the milk and the whipped cream into a pan with a thick bottom.
-
Cut open a vanilla pod in the length and scrape out the vanilla with a sharp knife.
-
Bring the milk mixture to the boil with vanilla and stick and let it cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
-
Dissolve the cornstarch in a few drops of water in a small bowl. Split the eggs (the protein is not used).
-
In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks, cornstarch and the sugar until the mixture turns pale and creamy.
-
Pour a dash of hot milk into the egg mixture while stirring. Beat the whole well.
-
Pour the egg mixture into the pan with the hot milk. Heat the sauce while stirring with a wooden spoon until the sauce is bound.
-
The sauce then hangs on the back of the spoon and a drawn line remains visible.
