Directions

  1. Allow 10 slices of puff pastry to thaw on the counter. You do this about 15 minutes before you start with this recipe.
  2. Cut a piece of parchment paper and place it on a baking sheet, the baking paper must fit exactly. Let the oven warm up to 200 degrees.
  3. Using an apple drill, push the core out of 2 firm apples. Cut the apples into thin slices.
  4. Place the puff pastry sheets on a cutting board. Place the apple slices in the middle of each sheet. Cut! a round from the puff pastry, around the apple slices. Make sure you have an edge of 1/2 inch around the apple.
  5. Carefully place the rounds of puff pastry with the apple slices on the baking tray. Put the egg in a bowl and stir so hard with a fork that all the egg has the same color. Spread the puff pastry tarts thinly with the egg, using a brush.
  6. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cane sugar over the puff pastry cakes. Place the baking sheet in the middle of the oven and bake the puff pastry cakes in 20 to 25 minutes until they are tender and nicely browned.
