Heat 2 tablespoons oil and fruit the onion rings. Add the sauerkraut and fry for 2 minutes.

Sprinkle the bacon patties with salt and pepper. Pour the cream into the sauerkraut and simmer for 15 minutes.

Heat the rest of the oil in another pan and fry the bacon strips in 10 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove the meat from the pan and keep it warm.

Pour a little water into the shortening and add the honey and thyme. Stir until a gravy.

Put a bed of sauerkraut on warm plates. Put the bacon on it and sprinkle the gravy over it. Tasty with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
