Bacon steak with honey gravy and carrots
A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, carrots removed (500 g), mashed potatoes (750 g, frozen), dried basil (11 g jar), olive oil, bacon patties (4 pieces), onions (in rings) and flower honey (pot 600 g).

Boil the carrots in water with a little salt in 10 minutes until al dente. Heat the mashed potatoes according to the instructions on the package. Add the basil and pepper and salt to taste.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan. Sprinkle the bacon strips with salt and pepper to taste and fry on both sides for 18 min. Until golden brown and cooked, turning regularly. Remove the bacon strips from the pan and keep them warm on a plate under a lid or aluminum foil. Fry the onions in the shortening. Stir in the honey and 3 tbsp water and season with salt and pepper.

Divide the bacon patties and the basil puree over 4 plates. Spoon the honey gravy over the bacon patties. Serve with the carrots.
