Brussels sprouts with whole grain nut


A tasty Dutch recipe. The vegetarian side dish contains the following ingredients: sprouts (cleaned, 400 g), old brown bread ((whole wheat), crusted), butter, hazelnuts (finely chopped), fresh chives ((a 25 g), finely chopped) and (freshly grated) nutmeg.

Directions

  1. sprouts in plenty of water with salt 1 min.
  2. Drain and drain in colander.
  3. Bread (in food processor) crumble as finely as possible.
  4. In frying sprouts, fry in half of butter over medium heat for 5 minutes or until al dente.
  5. Heat residual butter in frying pan.
  6. Bread crumbs and hazelnuts on low heat in 5 min.
  7. Shake occasionally.
  8. Stir in chives through breadcrumbs.
  9. Sprouts in hot shell and season with salt and nutmeg.
  10. Spread breadcrumbs over it.
  11. Serve with venison steak (with game sauce and pear chutney)..
