Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 ° C.
  2. Clean the orange and grate the orange peel. Put the butter (at room temperature) and sugar in a bowl and whisk with a mixer in 5 min.
  3. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Stir in the orange zest, cottage cheese and milk through the butter mixture.
  5. Sift the flour and the baking powder above it and mix gently with a spatula.
  6. Grease the oven dish and spread the batter. Bake in the middle of the oven in approx. 40 min. Until done.
  7. Check after 35 minutes for doneness with the skewer. If it comes out clean, the cake is cooked. Allow to cool completely on a grid in 2 hours.
  8. Cut a ½ inch from the sides of the cake. Cut the cake in half.
  9. Brush the bottom half with the jam and put the top half on. Cut into 24 pieces of 4 x 4 cm.
  10. Cut the marzipan into pieces and knead smoothly.
  11. Roll the pieces on a worktop that has been dusted with the icing sugar into a 24 x 48 cm and 2 mm thick rag.
  12. Cut ⅔ of the marzipan using a ruler in 24 bars of 1 x 24 cm. Brush 1 side of the bars with the jam.
  13. Halve the bars and fold the jam side down over a cake and press firmly.
  14. Fold a second bar with the jam side down crosswise around the cake and press firmly.
  15. Cut the rest of the marzipan into 24 pieces of 2 x 6 cm.
  16. Pinch the middle of each piece with your thumb and forefinger, so that you get a bow.
  17. Brush the bottom of the bow with the rest of the jam and stick on the crossed bars.
  18. Press a shake belly. Make 23 cake gifts.
