Directions

  1. Heat a frying pan on a high stand and fry the bacon cubes crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan, place on a plate and set aside the pan with the shortening.
  2. Mix the sugar and soy sauce in a bowl and roll in the chicory. Fry the chicory in the shortening of the bacon on a high setting in soft and brown for about 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the rice.
  4. Season the chicory with salt and pepper and serve with the fried bacon and rice.
