Cook the potatoes with salt in 15-20 minutes until done. Add the celery over the last 2 minutes of the cooking time.

Fry the bacon cubes in a dry, hot frying pan until crispy. Remove them from the pan.

Roast the bacon or bacon in the bacon fat. Drain the potatoes and celery.

Mix the bacon cubes, spring onions and crème fraîche or milk through them and stamp into a coarse stew. Add pepper to taste. Serve the stew with bacon or bacon.
