A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, chicory, Zeeland bacon (approx. 144 g), butter, flour, semi-skimmed milk, old cheese (ground, 175 g), mashed potatoes ((750 g, frozen) and thawed).

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Cut the underside of the stalk chicory and halve the chicory lengthwise. Remove the hard core. Boil the praise for 5 minutes in water with salt. Drain and wrap each half-strip with a slice of bacon. Place in the baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter and add the flour in one go. Allow to stir for about 5 minutes on low heat until the mixture (roux) turns light brown. Add the milk and bring to the boil while stirring until a smooth, bound sauce is formed. Add the cheese and stir until it has melted. Season with salt and pepper and pour over the praise.
  3. Divide the mashed potatoes over the greased oven dish. Bake for about 30 minutes in the middle of the oven until the puree is golden brown.
