Chop in red wine

A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, shoulder chops, butter, garlic (in slices), red onions (in thin slices), chestnut mushrooms, thyme (broken in smaller branches), mushroom broth (from tablet) and red wine.

Directions

  1. Rub the pork chops with salt and (freshly ground) pepper.
  2. Heat the butter in a frying pan and brown the pork chops in 4-5 minutes, turning them halfway.
  3. Divide the garlic, the onion and the mushrooms around the meat and fry for another 3-4 minutes, scooping the onion and mushrooms regularly.
  4. Divide the sprigs of thyme between the vegetables.
  5. Pour the broth and wine along the edge of the pan with the meat or warm up the moisture separately before pouring it near the meat.
  6. Stew the chops over medium-high heat in 45-50 minutes until tender, turn the pork chops now and then and let the moisture reduce to a lightly bound gravy.
  7. Serve the pork chops with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes and chicory or green beans..
