Chop the onion and cut the tomatoes into pieces.

Melt the butter in a frying pan. Sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper and fry the meat briefly around, remove from the pan.

Fry the onion for 5 minutes in the remaining cooking fat. Add the meat, tomatoes, bay leaves and 100 ml of hot water and turn the heat down.

Leave to simmer and soften with the lid on the pan for at least 2 hours. Turn the meat regularly and add hot water when the juice almost evaporates.

Peel the potatoes and cook them in plenty of water with salt in 20 minutes until done. Prepare the string beans according to the instructions on the package.

Add the drained white beans and 30 g of butter to the string beans and warm well.

Serve the potatoes and the beans with the meat and scoop the gravy over the potatoes. Divide the plates.
