Duck breast with sauerkraut
A tasty recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: poultry, butter, onion (coarsely chopped), smoked bacon (in cubes or strips), sauerkraut (natural, drained), caraway seed, sugar, orange juice and duck breasts.

Heat the butter in a frying pan and fry the onion gently for 5 minutes. Stir in the bacon strips and fry for a few more minutes. Spoon the sauerkraut, caraway seeds and sugar through the bacon onions mixture and add the orange juice and pepper to taste. Put the lid on the pan and bring everything to the boil. Stew the sauerkraut gently in about 30 minutes until done. Spoon the sauerkraut occasionally.

Meanwhile cut the fat side of the duck breasts crosswise. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet without fat. Put the duck breasts with the fatty side in the pan and fry this side over medium heat in approx. 8 min. Golden brown and crispy. Bake the other side for another 3 minutes. Put the duck breasts on a shelf, cover them with a piece of aluminum foil and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Divide the sauerkraut over 4 plates, cut the duck breast into thin slices and place them against it.
