Fig Compote
A tasty French recipe. The vegetarian side dish contains the following ingredients: olive oil, red onions (in half rings), dried figs (very finely chopped) and red wine vinegar.

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion for 5 minutes.

Add the figs.

Add the vinegar and 8 tbsp water and mix.

Let it cook for 15 minutes on low heat with a lid on the pan until the figs are soft.

Season with pepper and let cool.

Serve with a Dutch or luxurious cheese board..
