Directions

  1. Sprinkle the meat with salt, pepper and flour. Heat the oil and the butter and fry the meat cubes golden brown. Remove them from the pan.
  2. Add the bacon strips, onions, winter carrot, celery and the bay leaves with the cloves. Bake for 2-3 minutes and pour in the beer. Heat and put the beef in it.
  3. Slowly simmer for about 1 hour with the lid on the pan. Add a splash of water in between.
  4. Brush the slices of gingerbread with the mustard. Cut the cake into strips and add to the stew. Cook for 1-1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
  5. Remove the bay leaves with the cloves. Delicious with mashed potatoes and red cabbage or sprouts.
