Scandinavian mulled wine with star anise, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, vodka, raisins, port and red wine.

Directions

  1. Peel the orange skin of the scrubbed orange.
  2. Put the orange peel with the cardamom, star anise, cloves, the cinnamon stick and the sugar in a large pan.
  3. Pour in the wine, port and vodka and heat on low heat for 20 minutes, but do not boil. Stir occasionally.
  4. Turn off the heat. Put the lid on the pan and let it infuse for 1 to 4 hours.
  5. Remove the orange peel, star anise, cloves and the cinnamon stick from the pan with a slotted spoon.
  6. Add the raisins and heat 10 in. on low heat, do not let it boil.
  7. Spread the almond shavings over the glasses and add a spoonful of glögg. Serve immediately.
