Italian beef pumpkin stew

Cut the onion into half rings. Sprinkle the meat with pepper and salt.

Heat the oil in the frying pan and fry the meat over a high heat in 3 min. Brown. Take the meat out of the pan.

Fry the onion and Italian herbs for 3 minutes in the remaining shortening. Put the meat, the vinegar and the tomato cubes in the pan.

Pour in the water and bring to the boil. Turn the heat down and let the lid cook on the pan over low heat for 2 hours.

Remove the lid from the pan and let it simmer for another hour on low heat.

Add the pumpkin cubes to the oven for the last 30 minutes and bring back to the boil.

Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and cut into equal pieces. Cook the potatoes in 20 minutes until done and pour them off.

Season the stove with salt and pepper and serve with the potatoes.
