Large Mediterranean burger with mozzarella, red onion and grilled peppers

Directions

  1. Cut the onions into rings. Heat the butter in a frying pan and fry the onion rings for 10 min. On medium heat. Take out of the pan.
  2. Fry the burgers in the remaining shortening in 5 min. Golden brown. Turn halfway.
  3. Meanwhile cut the Italian bread rolls horizontally into 3 pieces. Cut the mozzarella into 8 slices.
  4. Divide the onion and hamburgers over the bottom pieces of the bread.
  5. Cut the pepper into strips.
  6. Cover the burgers with the middle pieces of bread and top with lettuce, grilled peppers and 2 slices of mozzarella. Cover with the top pieces of the bread.
