Lentil dish with sauerkraut and ham
Stew with lentils, sauerkraut, apple juice, paprika and ham.

Put the lentils with the water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and cook for 20 minutes until al dente.

Meanwhile, cut the onion. Heat the oil in a thick-bottomed pan and fry the onion for 2 minutes.

Put the sauerkraut in a colander, rinse under cold running water and let it drain.

Add the sauerkraut with the apple juice, vadouvan, pepper and possibly salt to the onion and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Scoop frequently.

In the meantime, halve the peppers, remove the stalk and the seeds with a sharp knife and cut the flesh into thin half rings.

Cut the ham into strips.
