Marinated herring with rye bread


A delicious scandinavian recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: fish, white wine vinegar (bottle 500 ml), sugar, peppercorns, ground coriander, red onion (in thin rings), winter carrots (in thin slanting slices), dill, Dutch new herrings and Brabant rye bread (package 400 g).

Directions

  1. Put the vinegar and 100 ml of water in a pan. Add the sugar, peppercorns and coriander. Bring to the boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Add the onion, carrot, dill and herring to the cooled vinegar. Put everything in the jar, put in the refrigerator and leave at least 1 night. Serve with rye bread.
