Directions

  1. Roast the pine nuts in a dry, hot frying pan and keep separate.
  2. Heat the oil and fry the onion and garlic without coloring them.
  3. Add the minced meat, the oregano and cayenne pepper and fry the flour.
  4. Spoon the tomato puree through and fry for 1 minute.
  5. Mix the tomato cubes with juice, half of the basil and half of the pine nuts and let it thicken slightly to a thick sauce. Set aside.
  6. Preheat the oven to 170ºC.
  7. Dust the work surface with flour. Roll out the pizza dough to about 40 cm and put 8 circles per piece.
  8. Save the dough pieces, knead them, roll them out again and stick out about 16 circles.
  9. Place the dough circles side by side on the work surface, brush them with a layer of the tomato sauce and spread the grated cheese over them.
  10. Do not completely close the dough to 1/2 circles and then fold double to 1/4 circles with thumb and forefinger.
  11. Cover the bottom of the cake pan with baking paper.
  12. Place the dough circles with the convex side to the edge of the shape and the point to the center side by side in a circle.
  13. Repeat until the whole shape is filled and put the last dough circles in a flower shape in the middle.
  14. Brush with egg and fry the cake in the middle of the oven in about 25 minutes until golden brown and done. Allow something to cool down before removing the cake from the mold.
  15. Sprinkle before cutting with the rest of the basil and pine nuts.
