Directions

  1. Cut 6 slices of raw ham in half lengthwise and keep them separate. Cut the rest of the ham into pieces. Cut the chives finely. Mix in a bowl the mince with grated cheese, chopped ham, egg, breadcrumbs, chives and some pepper. Knead everything well into an even, slightly sticky mixture.
  2. Divide the minced meat mixture into two equal portions for each person and form into rolls of 3 cm thick. Wrap each chopped roll in a slice of raw ham. Leave the rolls for a short while so that the ham sticks to the minced meat.
  3. Heat the butter in a frying pan and fry the chopped rolls in 12 minutes around brown and cooked. Add the water after 5 minutes and let it evaporate to a nice gravy during baking. Serve the mince rolls with stir-fried endive and rice or gnocchi.
