Mozzarella with spicy tomato sauce
A tasty Italian recipe. The vegetarian starter contains the following ingredients: tomatoes (or vine tomatoes), red pepper, fresh basil (15 g), mild olive oil, white balsamic vinegar (or lemon juice), shallot (shredded), garlic (squeezed) and (buffalo) mozzarella (in slices and at room temperature).

Cross the tomatoes at the bottom and immerse them for 10-15 seconds in boiling water.

Peel off the skins, halve the tomatoes and remove the seeds.

First cut the flesh into small strips and then into very small cubes.

Remove the pepper from the seeds (under the tap you can easily wash them away).

Finely chop the pepper.

Put a few leaves of basil on top of each other, roll them up in length and cut thin strips with a sharp, smooth knife.

Mix the olive oil with the vinegar, tomato cubes, pepper, basil, shallots and the garlic.

Season with (freshly ground) pepper.

Place some mozzarella on each plate and spoon the tomato sauce over it and next to it.
