Pea soup with crabs and garden peas


Soup of split peas, celery, pea soup vegetables, garden peas, smoked sausage and spare ribs.

Directions

  1. Put the water with the crabs, bouillon tablet and split peas in a large soup pot and bring to the boil.
  2. Leave to simmer for 1 hour with the lid on the pan. Stir frequently.
  3. Remove the crabs from the pan and remove the bone and unwanted fat from the meat. Cut the meat into small pieces and finely chop the celery.
  4. Stir the meat, ¾ the celery and the pea soup vegetables through the soup and simmer for another 15 minutes.
  5. Add the garden peas for the last 10 minutes.
  6. Cut the smoked sausage into slices and add the last 5 minutes to the soup. Season with pepper and salt. Garnish with the rest of the celery.
