Pepper steak with roasted onion
A tasty French recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, red onions, thyme, olive oil, black peppercorns, chilli powder, sea salt, steaks and butter.

Preheat the oven to 225 ° C.

Peel the onions and cut them crosswise to the bottom.

Put the onions side by side in a small oven dish.

Insert the sprigs of thyme and sprinkle the olive oil over it.

Rub the peppercorns with the chili powder in a mortar into a coarse mixture.

Sprinkle a teaspoon of this pepper mixture with some sea salt over the onions.

Roast the onions in the oven in 20-25 minutes brown and done.

Put the rest of the pepper mixture in a deep plate and press the steaks with one side.

Heat the butter in a frying pan and place the steaks with the pepper side in it.

Fry the steaks in 2 minutes per side on high heat brown.

The meat may still be red or rosé inside.

Place the steaks on warm plates and sprinkle some salt.

Put the roasted onions next to it.
