Pita bread with gyros and tzatziki

Directions

  1. Press the garlic.
  2. Finely chop the fresh mint (or dill).
  3. Wash the lettuce leaves and dry.
  4. Cut the tomatoes into thin slices.
  5. Cut the peppers into strips.
  6. Cut the red onion into thin half rings.
  7. Halve the olives.
  8. Peel the cucumber and halve it lengthwise, scrape the seeds out and cut the halves lengthwise into small cubes.
  9. Transfer the cucumber cubes to a sieve and sprinkle some salt.
  10. Let the cucumber drain for 30 minutes.
  11. Dab the cucumber with paper towels dry and mix the cubes in a bowl with the yogurt, freshly ground black pepper, cinnamon, fresh mint (or dill) and half of the olive oil.
  12. Heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan and fry the gyro meat while stirring in 6-8 minutes brown and cooked.
  13. Heat the pita bread according to the instructions.
  14. Cut open the pita bread and place the bottom halves on plates.
  15. Divide lettuce leaves and slices of tomato.
  16. Spoon the gyro meat on it and put a big spoonful of tzatziki on it.
  17. Garnish with the pepper bars, onion rings and olives.
  18. Place the top halves of the pita bread on top.
  19. Enter the rest of the tzatziki.
