Directions

  1. Drain the sauerkraut in a colander and press out the moisture. Cut the ribin coarse pieces.
  2. Heat the butter in a frying pan until the foam dries and fry the pieces of meat around brown. Put them on a plate.
  3. Fry the bacon in the shortening. Sprinkle with paprika, caraway seeds and thyme and pour the sauerkraut through it. Bake for 2 minutes and pour in the stock.
  4. Place the pieces of meat between the sauerkraut and roast the meat with the lid slanted on the pan in 2½ -3 hours until tender. Tasty with boiled potatoes.
