Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.

Peel the potatoes, cut into equal pieces and boil in a large pan of water with salt if necessary in 20 min.

Clean the onion and cut into rings. Clean the garlic and cut finely. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the garlic for 1 min.

Add the onion and cook for 4 minutes on medium heat. Change regularly.

Meanwhile cut the ham into pieces. Turn off the heat and mix the ham, sauerkraut and caraway seeds with the onion and garlic.

Season with pepper and salt.

Drain the potatoes, add the butter and milk and puree with the puree mash. Divide the mashed potatoes over the baking dish.

Then divide the sauerkraut mixture over the mash and put the bacon slices on it. Bake for about 20 minutes in the oven and serve.
