Sprouts in gorgonzola sauce


A tasty recipe. The vegetarian side dish contains the following ingredients: sprouts (500 g), olive oil, shallots (chopped), flour, milk and gorgonzola (blue cheese).

Directions

  1. Clean the sprouts: remove the stalk and possibly the outer leaves.
  2. Boil the sprouts in plenty of water with salt in 10-15 minutes until al dente.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a thick-bottomed pan and fry the shallots in a low heat for 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour and (freshly ground) pepper to taste.
  5. Pour the milk with the shallots.
  6. Bring the milk to the boil and let it boil gently for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Crumble the cheese and stir it through the warm milk.
  8. Let the cheese melt with stirring, so that a nice, thick bound sauce is created.
  9. Let the sauce boil for a while if it is still too liquid.
  10. Baptize a spoon in the sauce for control.
  11. The sauce has the right thickness if it sticks to the back of the spoon.
  12. Drain the sprouts, transfer them to a bowl and pour over the sauce.
  13. Delicious with tartar and boiled potatoes..
