Steamed fish with lime

A nice Japanese recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: fish, sesame seeds, lime (cleaned), lettuce leaves (not too large (eg from Romaine lettuce)), cod fillet, ginger syrup, black pepper (coarsely ground) and Japanese soy sauce.

Directions

  1. Heat a dry frying pan with non-stick coating and toast the sesame seeds in the pan until golden brown. Put them on a plate. With a lemon puller, draw long strips of lime green skin. Squeeze out half a lime.
  2. Place the lettuce leaves in the basket of the steamer. Cut the fish into 2 equal pieces, rub them in with salt and put each piece of fish in a salad. Sprinkle the lime juice with 1/2 el ginger syrup over the fish. Grind generously black pepper and sprinkle half of the sesame seeds over it. Place the lime strips on the fish.
  3. Bring a layer of water to the boil in the steamer and hang the steam basket above it. Place the lid on the pan and steam the fish in approx. 7 minutes until done.
  4. Mix the soy sauce with the remaining 1/2 tbsp ginger syrup and the remaining 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds. Pour this into 2 small glasses or trays. Place the pieces of fish with the lettuce leaf each on a hot plate. Put the containers with soy sauce next to them. Delicious with pandan rice and a salad of carrot julienne with Japanese dressing.
