Surinamese pea soup from Aunt Joos
A tasty recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: meat, split peas (soaked overnight), ribs, sauerkraut (one-piece), onion (chopped), tomatoes (in pieces), ground pimento, chicken stock and rice (Surinamese).

Bring the split peas in 1 liter of water to the boil.

Bring the pork chop in 1 liter of water in a different pan.

Let the split peas and pork chop cook gently.

Bring the sauerkraut bacon in cold water to a boil in a third pan.

When the water boils, take the sauerkraut bacon out of the pan and cut it into pieces.

After 15-20 minutes, gently boil, add the onion, tomatoes, allspice and finely minced sauerkraut bacon to the pan with chop, and then the drained, part-cooked split peas.

Season with the bouillon tablets.

Then cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.

Put the rice in a coffee cup, rinsed with water, turn the cup into a soup plate and pour the pea soup around it..
