Directions

  1. Cut the crusts of the bread, place the bread in a deep plate and sprinkle the milk over it.
  2. Put the minced meat in a bowl and break the egg above it.
  3. Add the nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Squeeze the slices of bread and crumble over the mince.
  5. Knead the minced meat into an even mass in which no more bread can be seen.
  6. Divide into 4 portions and form balls with wet hands.
  7. Sprinkle the flour on a flat plate.
  8. Roll the balls through the flour.
  9. Heat the butter in a frying pan and fry the balls over a high heat for 3 minutes.
  10. Turn them around with a wooden spatula so that they become nicely evenly brown.
  11. Add a dash of water and place the lid diagonally on the pan.
  12. Fry the balls over low heat for 25 minutes until done.
  13. Take out of the pan.
  14. Add 100 ml of water to the frying fat and stir the tins.
  15. Serve the balls with the gravy.
  16. Tasty with cauliflower and potatoes..
