Tzatziki with walnuts


A tasty recipe. The vegetarian side dish contains the following ingredients: cucumber, salt, walnuts, (old) wholemeal bread, olive oil (extra virgin), Greek yogurt (150 g), sour cream (125 ml), garlic, white wine vinegar, cinnamon powder and (freshly ground) black pepper.

Directions

  1. 1/3 Cut off part of cucumber, wash, pat dry with kitchen paper and cut into small blocks.
  2. Peel the rest of cucumber and grate.
  3. Sprinkle with little salt and let it drain thoroughly in the sieve.
  4. Meanwhile mince walnuts.
  5. Cut crusts of bread and crumble bread.
  6. Fry 1 tablespoon of oil in frying pan.
  7. Crumble bread crumbs in approx.
  8. 3 minutes, shoveling occasionally.
  9. Add walnuts and fry approx.
  10. 1 minute.
  11. In a bowl mix yoghurt and sour cream.
  12. Peel the garlic and press it over it.
  13. Push as much moisture from cucumber as possible.
  14. Cucumber grater, vinegar, remaining oil and 3/4 part of walnuts mix by stirring yogurt.
  15. Season with cinnamon powder and generous salt and pepper.
  16. Do it in four dishes or in a low bowl.
  17. Cut up cucumber cubes and the rest of walnuts.
  18. Serve with roasted shawarma sandwiches..
