If it remains unclear where the complaints come from, further investigation may be necessary. In some diseases it is caused by a bacteria, virus, yeast or fungus. By taking a culture, it can be seen whether this is actually the case and which bacteria or virus is responsible for this. In this way targeted treatment can take place.

The patient often receives a jar from the doctor. If a jar is not provided, it can also be collected from the pharmacy. In other cases, a jar from home can also be used, such as a jam jar. It is important that it is very clean and dry. The laboratory prefers the special jars issued by the hospital, doctor and pharmacy.
