Cleaning 'naturally'

  1. People who consciously try to manage their health and from there with food again will in all probability be interested in cleaning products that are as harmless as possible to people and the environment. Soon you will end up with cleaning products that most people would quickly call 'old-fashioned'. And yet it's these old-fashioned remedies that clean well and are harmless.

Green soap

  1. Green soap can be used for many things. For starters, smear stains on clothing or a shirt collar with some green soap. Then in the washing machine. What you can also do is make a mixture of boiled water, green soap and soda. Beat slowly, pour into an empty bottle and allow to cool. You can use this as an all-purpose cleaner. (Don't make it too thick because you won't get it out of the bottle anymore). The simplest thing is to use a transparent bottle. Also looks great on your kitchen counter. Of course you can also just mix green soap with water and use it as a cleaning agent or, with the addition of some lemon to get a degreasing effect.

Cleaning soda

  1. It is true that baking soda and cleaning soda are very similar, but although baking soda can be used in the cake you are going to bake as well as as a drain cleaner or abrasive, you should do that with cleaning so really don't do soda!

Sunlight soap

  1. You use sunlight soap to make detergent for your washing machine. It smells nice and fresh and is dirt cheap. Moreover, it is a product that has been used for laundry for centuries (since 1901 with us in the Netherlands) and which actually works. Together with some soda dissolved in hot water you quickly make a bucket full of detergent for no more than two quarters. When you also use vinegar as a fabric softener, you have a clean and soft laundry for very little money. See the recipe for detergent here. Click here for the recipe.
