Low-fat and semi-skimmed yogurt are included in the Wheel of Five and are part of a healthy diet. There are some types of Greek yogurt with less fat that are listed in the Wheel of Five.

More saturated fat and calories

  1. Greek yogurt is high in saturated fat because cream has been added to it. Saturated fat increases blood LDL cholesterol. Too high LDL cholesterol is not good for the blood vessels. Greek yogurt is also high in calories. A bowl of Greek yogurt provides 188 calories, a bowl of low-fat yogurt contains 56 calories. That is more than three times as much.
