Koolblad as first aid

  1. Great stories have been told in the past about the great healing power of the ordinary white cabbage. It was therefore highly regarded as a home remedy, not least because cabbage is always available. It's amazing what you can do with that ordinary cabbage!

Sauerkraut

  1. A tried and tested and also healthy means of regulating bowel movements is sauerkraut. Anyone who has tried it will be able to confirm that. You should then eat about 200 to 300 grams of sauerkraut per day, regardless of whether you use the sauerkraut raw or cooked. This sauerkraut cure must be performed consistently for 3 to 4 weeks. The effect can be explained medically as follows: Our digestion is regulated by a system of nerves, which is stimulated by the various digestive substances (changed and digested parts of our food). Of these substances, acetylcholine in particular is very effective. And ± 200 grams of sauerkraut contains the amount of acetylcholine, which can relieve intestinal inertia. The sauerkraut also contains a lot of indigestible substances (cellulose) that stimulate the functioning of the colon. And also the mineral salts, plus the lactic acid contained in the sauerkraut, have a regulating effect on bowel movements. This time-tested home remedy never fails. You can support a sauerkraut cure with lots of exercise and sports. By the way, sauerkraut gets you saturated quickly and it contains few calories. With a little good will and if you don't want to eat bacon and smoked sausage with the sauerkraut, you can lose a few pounds during such a sauerkraut cure, which is an added benefit for most people.

White cabbage juice

  1. Many people suffer from gastric mucosal inflammation, stomach and duodenal ulcers. There are a lot of medicines on the market against these complaints. You can support this with an old proven home remedy: the juice from fresh cabbage leaves. The science that has been involved in this confirms this effect. A substance was found in the white cabbage, formerly called vitamin U, known as an anti-ulcer factor.

Cabbage leaves

  1. These are almost miracles reported in folk medicine when it comes to the positive effect of cabbage leaves that are placed on the nail bed on poorly healing wounds, ulcers or infections. Nerve pains, especially as a result of shingles, toothache, joint aches and pains caused by gout are also quickly and for a long time soothed when you put cabbage leaf wraps on them. And that too has been tried many times.
