Aunt Greets spaghetti bolognese sauce with leeks, onion, thyme, bay leaves, corned beef, sifted tomatoes and minced meat.

Cut the onion into pieces. Clean the leek and cut into rings.

Heat the butter and oil in a large saucepan or frying pan. Fry the onion with the leek, thyme and bay leaf until it looks glassy and light brown.

Cut the corner beef into pieces and stir through the onion mixture and fry until it starts to color.

Pour the strained tomatoes into the pan, stir the sauce and gently bring to the boil.

Crumble the raw minced meat in the sauce and bring to the boil again.

Allow the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes and season to taste with fresh (freshly ground) salt and pepper.
