Flambéed apples with pastis and ice cream
A tasty French recipe. The vegetarian dessert contains the following ingredients: orange (cleaned), hand apples, butter, brown caster sugar, cinnamon, pastis (liquorice) and ice cream (eg cinnamon ice cream).
Cut the peel of the orange (without the white) into very thin strips. Peel the apples and cut into thin parts.
Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the apple slices golden brown.
Add the caster sugar, orange strips and cinnamon and let the apple cook over low heat and caramelise.
Turn off the cooker hood. Pour the pastis into the apple and light it. Serve the apples with a scoop of ice if the flames are extinguished.
