Friese chicory stew


A tasty Dutch recipe. The vegetarian main course contains the following ingredients: potatoes (peeled and in pieces), chicory, butter, herbal stock (crumbled), crème fraîche, nutmeg and Frisian cheese (grated).

Directions

  1. Boil the potatoes in a bottom of water with salt with the lid on the pan in 20 minutes.
  2. Cut off the bottom of the chicory and remove the core with an apple core.
  3. Heat half of the butter in a skillet.
  4. Add the chicory and bouillon tablet and let it cook over low heat with the lid on the pan in 20 minutes.
  5. Stir in the crème fraîche and season with nutmeg and (freshly ground) pepper.
  6. Heat the grill.
  7. Drain the potatoes, crush them and scoop them through the chicory.
  8. Spoon the whole into an oven dish and spread the nail cheese and the rest of the butter over it.
  9. Place the dish under the grill and let the cheese brown in 2-3 minutes.
  10. Tasty with smoked salmon! ..
