Lukewarm chicory salad with apple


A tasty Dutch recipe. The side dish contains the following ingredients: meat, solid apple (Elstar or Jonagold), walnut oil, chicory, chives (in pieces of 2 cm), balsamic vinegar and fried bacon strips (pack of a 70 g).

Directions

  1. Peel the apple and cut it into 12 parts.
  2. Spread the slices thinly with 1 tablespoon of walnut oil and roast them in a hot grill pan brown, turning them regularly.
  3. The parts must remain firm.
  4. Cut the underside of the bushes of chicory and loosen the leaves.
  5. Heat 2 tablespoons of walnut oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the chicory leaves for 1 minute (they only need to soften slightly).
  6. Mix the chicory in a bowl with the apple wedges and the chives and sprinkle the vinegar over it.
  7. Finally, sprinkle the bacon strips over it.
  8. Delicious with a fried tartare or meatballs..
