Mashed honey with hazelnuts
Vegetarian side dish of meiraap with honey, hazelnuts and thyme.

Cut a slice of the top and bottom of the turnips. Cut them into 1 cm thick sections. Heat the butter in a skillet and scoop the maids for 1 min. Add 100 ml of water and the honey.

Cook the meirapen with the lid on the pan for 5 minutes on low heat. Remove the lid from the pan and allow the moisture to evaporate in 3 minutes. Season with pepper and salt.

Meanwhile, toast the hazelnuts in a frying pan without oil or butter until golden brown. Let cool on a plate and chop the nuts coarsely. Meanwhile, rub the leaves of the thyme.

Place the meiraps on a scale. Sprinkle with the hazelnuts and thyme. Nice with fried steak or salmon fillet.
