Lemonade of melon, basil, lime and carbonated water

Directions

  1. Bring the water to the boil and dissolve the sugar with stirring. Allow the syrup to cool slightly.
  2. Peel the melon, remove the seeds and cut the melon into pieces. Squeeze the limes.
  3. Put half of the melon and the basil leaves in a tall cup and puree with the hand blender.
  4. Put the mixture in a fine sieve and push it through with the convex side of a spoon.
  5. Catch the puree in a large bowl or can. Repeat with the other half of the melon and the basil.
  6. Add the syrup, lime juice and carbonated water to the puree and mix briefly with the hand blender.
  7. Pour the lemonade into a clean soda bottle and cool for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
