Pea soup with smoked chicken


A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: poultry, split peas (a 500 g), chicken broth (from 2 tablets), celeriac (peeled), winter carrot (deleted), onion (chopped), leek (in rings), smoked chicken breast ((approx. 160 g), in slices) and celery (chopped).

Directions

  1. Rinse the split peas in a colander under cold running water. Bring them to a boil in a soup pot with the stock. Cook gently with the lid on the pan for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, cut the celeriac into cubes and the carrot into slices.
  2. Add with the onion and leek to the soup and cook for 30 minutes on low heat. Stir occasionally.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and add some water if necessary. Pour the soup into 4 deep plates and spread the chicken over it. Sprinkle with the celery. Tasty with rye bread and bacon.
