Chop the onion and finely chop the garlic. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and garlic for 3 min.

Cut the winter carrot and celery into slices. Add the herbs, carrot and celery and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the tomatoes and bring to the boil. Cook over low heat with the lid on the pan for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

In the meantime, cook the penne according to the instructions on the package al dente, but take 1 min. Of the cooking time.

Drain the pasta and scoop through the sauce. Bake for 1 min. Then divide the plates.
