A tasty recipe. The snack contains the following ingredients: flour, cottage cheese, cold butter (in small blocks), coriander (seeds), cumin seeds, sesame seeds (or poppy seeds) and egg (beaten).

Directions

  1. In a bowl, knead the flour with cottage cheese, butter and 1 teaspoon of salt with a cool hand into a smooth dough.
  2. Dust the work surface with flour and roll out the dough. Fold the dough in three and roll it out again. Repeat this 2 more times. Fold the dough back up and let it rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour, wrapped in cling film.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Cut the coriander seeds, cumin seeds and sesame seeds into a mortar and mix salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Roll the dough again into a thin piece of 30 x 20 cm. Cut the piece into strips of 1 cm wide and 20 cm long. Place the bars on a griddle covered with parchment paper and brush them with egg. Sprinkle the spice mixture over it.
  5. Put the baking tin in the middle of the oven and bake the stalks golden brown for about 15 minutes. Let them cool on a grid.
  6. This quark dough is just as brittle as puff pastry, but contains much less fat. Also ideal for sweet and savory tarts.
