Stewed carrots with fish fingers
A tasty Dutch recipe. The main course contains the following ingredients: fish, butter, fish fingers (a 10 x 30 g, sustainable catch, freezer), orange (scrubbed), onion (chopped), carrots (scraped (discount bag 500 g)), crumbly cooking potatoes (advantage bag 800 g), milk, chives ((a 25 g) and chopped).

Heat 30 g of butter in a frying pan and fry the fish fingers according to the instructions on the package. Halve the orange. Grate the orange zest from 1 half. Press out both halves. Fill the juice with water to 100 ml.

Meanwhile, heat the remaining butter in a frying pan and fry the onion until transparent. Add the carrots and the grater and juice of the orange and gently bring to the boil. Cook the carrots with the lid on the pan on the lowest heat until done in 20 min. Shake occasionally.

In the meantime, cook the potatoes according to the instructions on the packaging. Drain, add the milk and bring to the boil. Turn off the heat. Mash the potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Add the chives. Serve the stewed carrots with the fish fingers and mashed potatoes.
