Peel the potatoes. Grate the potatoes and onion coarsely above a bowl.

Add the eggs and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.

Heat the butter and oil in a frying pan with non-stick coating. Fry the potato mixture with the lid on the pan for 8 minutes on medium heat.

Slide the rösti on a large plate, put a second plate on top and turn the plates.

Slide the rösti back into the pan with the unbaked side down and bake for another 6 minutes without a lid. Cut the rösti into four points.
