Tempeh with fast fresh tomato sambal
Fried tempeh with homemade sambal of red pepper, ginger, onion, tomatoes and sweet soy sauce.

Halve the tempeh in the length and cut in slices of ½ cm in width.

Heat the oil in a pan to 180 ° C. Put a piece of bread in the oil: if it starts to fizz immediately, the oil is at temperature.

Fry the tempeh in 2 portions in 5-6 min. Golden brown and crispy.

Drain the tempeh on kitchen paper and sprinkle with a little salt.

In the meantime, remove the stalk from the red peppers. Halve the peppers lengthways and remove the seed lists with a sharp knife.

Peel and grate the ginger.

Put the peppers, ginger and fried onion in the mortar and stamp into a paste.

Cut the tomatoes into cubes. Put the pepper paste and ketjapmarinademanis through.

Divide the tempeh over a flat dish and spread the sambal over it. Tear the basil into pieces and sprinkle.
